Thea Harvey has been an RMT for almost 20 years. Hailing from Nova Scotia, she graduated in 2007 from a massage therapy college with a 2 year, 2200 hour diploma. She moved to London, Ontario and completed her board exams and became a registered massage therapist, quickly entering the field as an RMT in a multidisciplinary clinic. After a year in London, Thea moved to Canmore, Alberta and continued working in clinics alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors and acupuncturists. Thea’s main treatment focus is therapeutic massage, with a specific deep tissue skill set using techniques to address postural dysfunctions, repetitive strain and overuse patterns, and acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. Thea is passionate about creating customized treatment plans for her patients, and is very dedicated to supporting her patients long term wellness goals.
Some of Thea’s treatment skills include:
- TMJD treatments with intra-oral massage
- myofascial release ( hands on and dynamic cupping)
- trigger point release
- pre and post natal massage
- rehabilitative massage for pre/ post orthopaedic surgeries
Thea has also worked extensively with patients who don’t tolerate deep tissue massage, and she fervently believes that deep pressure is not always appropriate, or necessary, for a treatment to be therapeutic. Thea has a strong skill set of general Swedish massage, and she has also been a Reiki practitioner for 20 years, and has studied Shiatsu techniques.
In her spare time Thea teaches yoga, enjoys long walks with her two giant dogs, and cooking for her family and friends. Book with Thea for a customized therapeutic massage!
